Amora Tree Member Terms
Draft for review, not legal advice, to be reviewed by a qualified Australian lawyer. Version 0.2. Shown to invited members the first time they sign in. Feature status: coming soon (Phase 5).
Welcome to [owner name]'s family tree
You've been invited to view or help with a family tree on Amora Tree. Before you start, here's what you need to know.
1. Whose tree this is
The tree belongs to its owners. They decide:
- who is invited;
- what role each person has;
- which branch each person can see.
Your role is [role]. You can only see the branch you've been given. Some people may be marked Restricted at their own request. Restricted people are hidden from you.
2. Keeping the family's trust
This tree contains information about real people, including living relatives. By joining, you agree to:
- keep what you see private, and only use it for your family's history;
- not copy, screenshot or share living people's details outside the tree without their permission;
- only add information you believe is accurate, and treat everyone in the tree with respect;
- only upload photos and documents you have the right to share;
- not try to see more of the tree than your role allows.
3. What others can see about you
The tree's owners and admins can see:
- your name, email or phone number, and your role;
- what you add or change.
To protect living relatives, views of living people's details are logged. The owners can see who viewed them and when.
4. If you add things
Facts you add (names, dates, places, relationships) become part of the family's tree.
If you leave or delete your account:
- the facts you added stay in the tree;
- your photos and notes are removed;
- you'll be shown as "Former member".
5. Your choices
You can:
- export your member data;
- report content, and block or mute someone;
- leave the tree or delete your account at any time. You can do this in the app or at amoratree.com/delete-account.
If you or your information appears in a tree and you'd like it corrected or removed, tell the tree's owners, or contact us at [privacy contact email].
6. Signing in
You can sign in with an email link or an SMS code, and you can add a passkey. Please keep your email and phone secure, because they're your key to the tree.
7. The rest of the terms
You must be 18 or older. Our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy also apply to you as a member.
If you break these Member Terms:
- the owners can remove your access;
- we may suspend your account.
